The private key is generated by your seed phrase and neither should be shared with anyone. Your private key is used to sign your transactions, proving that you own the crypto on the blockchain. If you don’t have access to your private key, then you don’t truly have custody over your crypto. This is why using storing large sums of crypto in custodial wallets is a bad idea - not your keys, not your coins!
